that considered itself a high-end auto manufacturer.
was introduced at the 1949 Autorama.
It was a sharp little number,
and caught the eyes and hearts of car afficionados
from day one.
Six years later, a memorable guitar hook
and one Charles Edward Anderson Berry's lyrics
about an unfaithful lover and a fast car
would immortalize the Coupe.
The song, and the car, were both instant classics.
"As I was motivatin' over the hill
I saw Maybellene in a Coup DeVille..."
The rest, as they say, is history.
and it does the Cadillac tradition proud.
Its current owner has owned it since the 80's.
He is the third owner, having bought it from his cousin;
both knew the original owner.
Under the hood, there's a 472 cubic inch Cadillac engine,
with 38,000 original miles,
that still runs and drives great.
While there are a handful of small rust spots,
this is an overall clean and well-kept Coupe.
They certainly don't
build 'em like this any more,
but that doesn't mean you can't
still call a particularly comfy slice
of automotive history your own.
