but the Caterpillar D6 is just such a machine.
It was first introduced in 1935,
but since Caterpillar isn't a company
to be complacent about quality,
it's undergone some changes over the years,
and has even seen military service
under the armed forces designation SNL G152.

The D6M is a variant on the D6 series first introduced in 1995
as one of the replacements for the D6H
(the other, one year later, was the D6R).
It's powered by a turbocharged 140hp CAT 3116T diesel engine.
This particular model is an extended track length LGP tractor.
It has a 74" track gauge.
The machine has a 10' 5" blade,
and measures 17.1' long by 10.5' high.
It has an 8' track width with 28" pads.
Its undercarriage is about 50%,
and it weighs in at 34,000 lbs.

It keeps on working to keep you working,
all with the durability you expect from a Caterpillar.
It features an OROPS, P.A.T. blade, engine enclosures,
and a new, dealer-installed ECM module.
While it could use a fresh coat of paint,
