Not many heavy equipment manufacturers can boast a dozer with a nearly 80-year history, but the Caterpillar D5 is just such a machine. It was first introduced in 1939, but since Caterpillar isn't a company to be complacent about quality, it's undergone some changes over the years, being revived in 1967 after a 28-year retirement and remaining in production ever since.

This 2005 D5G is powered by a 99GHP Cat 3046 diesel. It has a 9'7" blade and a 7'9" track width with 26" pads. It measures 14'Lx9'2"H (with blade). This machine has a strong undercarriage, and quite a bit of life in it given how well it has been maintained. It weighs in at 20,434 lbs.

The D5G LGP combines power, rugged components and superior balance for maximum performance in the toughest working conditions. It keeps on working to keep you working, all with the durability you expect from a Caterpillar. This machine was extensively serviced, including a new blade tilt bearing, on 7/25/11 at 3239 hours. It has 3506 hours now. While it could use a fresh coat of paint, it's a good, solid machine that's ready to work today.
